Super Rod / OnLine OnTrack have been involved in railway drainage since 2001 and have helped to solve many railway drainage issues. Our fleet of road rail vehicles have been specifically designed to vactor remove debris from catch pits and high pressure water jet pipes clear. Without our teams intervention the railway lines will flood and cause significant delays, our task is to survey, plan and implement storm water drainage maintenance across England and Wales.
The Role
We have exciting opportunities to join our successful, long established teams working across the UK. As a team member all rail and drainage training will be provided and we are invested in building your career to develop your skills.
The work is labour intensive and requires a good level of safety awarness. You will be operating or controlling unimog road rail machines up and down rail tracks completing high pressure water jetting and vactor removal.
Full Time / Permanent Contract
The business has several aspects with no two weeks ever the same, one week you may be excavating a broken pipe in a station and the next driving and operating Unimogs directly on the rail. The work is labour intensive and requires a high level of safety awareness which the business will support you with training and mentoring.
The working hours vary week to week and include 3 Saturdays a month with the third paid as overtime. With the option of a fourth weekend paid as overtime. During the week you will work Tuesday to Friday 7:30 to 16:30 or 22:00 to 07:00.
We require you to be flexible in your working hours and have availability to stay away when required (accommodation and food allowance provided).
This is an exciting full time opportunity to be part of highly regarded family owned and run business with market leading Road to Rail Vehicles and equipment on the railway.
Location – You must live within 15 miles of Burslem Stoke on Trent ST6 3LE and have a full driving licence and your own transport. HGV class 2 is advantageous.
Training and Mentoring – Full training will be provided for the rail environment including PTS, Operator, Machine Controller, COSS etc as well as commercial training such as confined space, cat scan, HGV class 2 etc.
EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS ARE ALL SUBJECT TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING A DRUGS AND ALCOHOL AND MEDICAL SCREENING. WE REQUIRE LEVEL 1 MEDICALE TO PROCEED WITH TRAINING.
Pay structure – We offer a basic pay scheme with incentives through safety training and personal development that are clearly defined. We also offer overtime for weekend shifts and a £100 safety bonus each month. Additionally, there is a bonus scheme and regular team incentives. We offer £25 per night food allowance when staying away from home and a good standard of accommodation.
First year salary expectations £23500 to £29000
Achievable Salary thereafter up to £31000
Contractor / Part Time
Join our team part time on weekend shifts, all training will be provided for you to join our established team. Ideal opportunity for an ambitious person who is looking to start a career on the rail or earn extra income over the weekend whilst continuing with your mid week job. For example one of our part time staff works on average 2no Saturdays a month whilst working on construction Mon to Fri and earns £360 per month extra income.
Usual working hours on a Saturday night are 22:00 hours to 07:00 (including travel)
Location – Midlands based work sites within 2 hours of Stoke on Trent (transport to and from site provided)
Pay Structure – £180 to £250 per shift
Training –
Initial drugs and alcohol (2 hours in Congleton area)
1 full day class room mid week for Personal Track Safety training (Burslem area)
(after 3 months) 5 days mid week Operator training or Machine Controller training (Burslem area)

We are looking for hard working grafters to support an established small team for Saturday night shifts. You need a good safety knowledge of the rail and be prepared to get hands on with the machines. Our working standards are the best in the industry and we want you to support the team.
You don’t necessarily need to be a machine controller or operator at present as training will be provided. COSS or HGV class 2 would be advantageous.
We can offer every Saturday night for the right candidate.
